Hey folks!
It's nomination time, and I am here with an ask - if you read and enjoyed my short story fog/fugue, published in the August issue of takahē, it would be amazing if you consider nominating it for a Sir Julius Vogel Award in the best short story category.
The SJV's are New Zealand's science fiction and fantasy awards, and a great way to find excellent Kiwi reads if you're looking for a place to start. We have so much talent here in our small nation, and I don't think I'll ever win in the short story category, but a gal's gotta shout about her fav story of the year, right?
The nomination guidelines are linked HERE and the details you would need are below.
Title: fog/fugue
Creator: Cassie Hart
Category: Best Short Story
Publisher: takahē
Contact: just.cassie.hart@gmail.com
Other info: The link for the story is here: https://www.takahe.org.nz/fog-fugue/
Please don't feel any pressure to, but nominating for these awards is a lovely way to show authors that you enjoyed their work - if there are other things you've loved, pleased give them a shout out. It really does make authors smile. I’m finishing off my own nominations this week so that I don’t forget! Nominations close at the end of Feb 2025.
Look at this beautiful shiny pointy award!
